  1. How many bedrooms are there and what is the max number it will accommodate? 2 bedrooms – 1 double and 1 twin. 4 people max.
  2. Is the flat available?  Check the availability Calendar
  3. What is the base price for a 1 week? £450 check the availability Calendar for seasonal pricing.
  4. Who do I make cheques payable to? We’d rather you send money by bank transfer, but if you must send a cheque please make it out to Ruth Alder.
  5. Can I book a part week? Sometimes. Contact us
  6. Is it available for longer lets? Sometimes but  Contact us – terms are always as per holiday lets.

  8. What is the flat layout? The flat was formerly the kitchens and servants quarters. Plan
  9. Can I hire a car locally? Yes contact us. There is a local car club, which is affiliated with a national network Co-wheels.
  10. Can I hire bikes, surf gear locally? Belhaven Bikes and the Surf school will be happy to assist
  11. Are there shops nearby. Yes – almost all your food shopping needs can be met within walking distance
  12. How long does it take to get to Edinburgh? The train takes 20-30 minutes
  13. Do I need my own car? No, much of the locality is reachable by bus or train
  14. Is there parking? On street parking is restricted in the day 10-4. Parking is available opposite and nearby, and currently is free and easy.
  15. What is NOT included in the price? Beach and pool towels, bike hire, surf hire, 24/7 heating, butler services are not included.
  16. Is the flat next to the beach/sea or have direct access to the sea? No. It is a few minutes walk via the public road or footpath – around 300m away
  17. Is the garden available to use? Yes, there is a private garden shared only with the owners which we encourage you to use, mostly laid out formally.
  18. Is there a widescreen TV and TVs in the bedrooms? No, just a small TV and a selection of (mostly grown up) DVDs.
  19. What about internet? Wifi over a 60Mbit connection is available for responsible use.
  20. Is smoking allowed? No smoking inside or within the curtilage / boundary of the property, thank you. That means no smoking outside or in the garden, please.
  21. What are the check-in and check-out times? 16:00 and 10:00.
  22. Can I invite all my local friends to stay over? No. Only the named guests can stay.
  23. How old is the property? Probably over 200 years old, built in rubble sandstone and finished in ashlar blocks to the front.
  24. Is the property suitable for older guests? We’ve had a few octagenerians and a nonagenerian stay, but there are steps to negotiate so may not be suitable for all ages and abilities
  25. Is there a cot, spare bed? Yes, but always check with us if you have special requirements as the property is not suitable for large families or large groups
  26. I have a dog, cat, pet snake … Sorry, no pets – our cat wouldn’t like it.
  27. I have special needs, will the flat be suitable? Possibly, many find it congenial for access to station and shops, but there are steps and its an old home. Contact us
